The rain outside couldn’t put a damper on the excitement inside the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame Friday night, Oct. 23.
That’s because the 2009 class of inductees were being honored at the Hall, which is located at the Dawsonville City Municipal Complex.
Almost 300 people turned out to honor the 2009 inductees, which includes Bob Burcham, Luther Carter, Herb “Tootle” Estes, Tommie Irvin, Ronnie Sanders, Leon Sells, Buck Simmons and Katron Sosebee.
Former inductees, including Jimmy Summerour, Rex White, Harvey Jones and Jimmy Mosteller were on hand to honor the new inductees.
It was a great night to honor the new inductees and to pay homage to all the members of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. The city of Dawsonville and the GRHOF volunteers did an excellent job in their efforts to make the 2009 banquet one of the best ever.
For anybody that may have missed it, here’s a look back at the 2009 Georgia Racing Hall of Fame induction ceremony and banquet.
